Swim Lessons

We have started swim lessons and it seems like we are so far behind.  In Humboldt it takes forever for you to get lessons.  We finally got them started and on the first day Isabelle would not get into the pool with the instructor.  She played on the steps and that was it.  After you do the lesson the kids get into the hot tub.  Well Izze could not go in the first day because she didn't not participate.  Well the next class she was in the pool learning how to swim.  Yesterday it was Michaela's turn to not get into the pool.  She finally did after a little bit.  They both jumped in the pool without help, even going under water!

On Saturday Scott and I headed to Trinidad to try our lucky with some fishing.  Weather up here is great but windy.  The ocean wasn't clear enough to fish so we hiked to another place but Scott got super excited when he spoted a gray whale.  Its the first rock looking thing in the picture.  It was a mom and calf in the bay.  So cool!

Three years ago, last weekend is when my dad passed away.  That first year I caught a spotted bass in his honor.  This year it was a black rockfish.  Scott and I hadn't had much lucky but I saw this one in the water chasing my artificial lure.  We put down some bait but nothing happened.  A couple more casts and this guy hits our line!  Wow was he a fighter!  So here is to my dad!  Biggest one I have caught.
Mother's day Scott went crabbing!  Look at them all.  He caught 15 but only kept 4.  Guess what we are having for dinner today.  The girls always like helping!

Trying something new is always hard when you're young - good for both girls for getting it together! The whales are fabulous! I haven't seen one in a long time. And one of my favorite dinners is crab! This was a great post!!
