Lake Mendocino

Scott and I headed to Lake Mendocino last Friday night.  It was a 24 hour epic adventure!  We camped out by the lake, sleeping on an air mattress in the little truck.  The camp ground was loud with young kids but it was still nice camping outside.  We awoke to tightness and not much sleep.  Guess we aren't that young anymore but still fun.  I think we were the first group on the lake.  Not many bites in the morning.  Scott caught a black crappie which was great because he had never caught one in that lake before.  We headed to the up river.  I caught one smallmouth bass on an artificial.  So now we can check off another goal, catching fish from a lake.  I got another bite on my artificial but we decided to put a worm on and I caught two nice rainbow trouts.  Of course I forgot the camera for the second time on the trip and we only had Scott's phone.  After fishing the heck out of the hole we slowly headed back to the lake.  I caught this 16.5 inche long smallmouth.  Its huge, biggest one I have caught!  Scott caught another fish, sunfish and then we headed back.  We stopped in Willits and Buster's Burgers and enjoyed the nice weather.  We might be going back soon!
